Way finding

The information booklets I've been putting together are quite dry in information/tone. I thought this would be appropriate because from my own experience it's the adults/parents who deal with maps and work out where to go. I thought for the way finding within the environment I could take a different approach which took advantage of the space more, and wasn't quite as serious. Hoping that this would appeal more to the younger variety of visitor.

The top image is the most recent version, without the extra green bits on the stairs.

Here I've tried to mock up one of my ideas for the green zone. The dinosaurs is probably the most well known feature of this zone, so it seems right to use this for the way finding. I've tried to use the stairs/entrance and mimic the idea of being eaten by a dinosaur. So to enter the zone, you have to be eaten by the dinosaur. To produce this, vinyl would be used straight onto the surface of the steps and wall to give the appearance face on of being a dinosaurs mouth. The top teeth would be placed on the back wall. It would make use of a similar technique as Dali's portrait of Mae West although not quite as abstract. (below) Making use of layers/depth to form the image.
